Alright, enough

of reading.  Let's do something really important.

Let's find out if its really necessary to follow High Altitude baking directions.  To be fair, we were at 7,000 feet.
We will not even mention we had to make a special run to the store to buy extra ingredients.
Everything is in in the oven, so about 30 minutes to work on the 1,000 piece puzzle.

Tale of the taste

The baking is done.  Left is the high altitude receipie.

The results were mixed.   About 50% liked each version.  Some liked both.
while some could not wait for the pesky slow oven.  (Eat fast before the others see what your doing.)

More Science

Check out the tornado in a jar

Using mechanical advantage from a brand new souvenir knife to open some orange soda
Learning how to poke a vent hole in the top
This experiment took the longest.  How to make the balls disappear into the pockets.

Nice view

of the Arkansas River down here.

I'm glad I did not have to help build that bridge, but let's go check it out.
back up to the top we go.
Time out for a death defying photo op.

Seems strong enough

So, if you build a bridge in the middle of no where, will they come?

 Yea, I guess so.
We were all surprised to bump into the invisible wind tunnel, only while on the bridge.
I appreciate the comedy.  Other than you would need over 1,000 feet of line, the wind would toss your worm into the next county.

Time to head back

Seems the store had gone out of business long ago, so we just rocked awhile.
The chair is 21 feet tall and weighs 9,100 pounds.

If the Culver cone person can pose for a photo op......
will he also play cars with me?
OK, you guys, this is your last warning.....
Finish all of your desserts, or you get no supper, and that's final.

While some of the team

Traveled to CSU to check out the campus and buy cool stuff,
the rest of us decided to take a relaxing boat ride.

Hey, what's up with the crash helmets on a relaxing boat ride.  Have I been duped?
I'm OK now.  I was assured the gear is just for a photo op.  With a cloudless sky, and the thought of snow run off, I am concerned about sun burn and being frozen buy water splash.
As it turned out, the trip was great with no after effects, except some really cool pics.

Row, row, row your boat

Gently down the stream

... life is but a dream.       Thank goodness for self bailing rafts.
Seems each had their own favorit rapid.
or maybe it just had a cool name

One last pic

from the outfitter place, and we are off

Wow, check out that bridge.  We need to get to the bottom of this.
A five minute incline ride later, and we are here.

Colorado Trip

This became know as our fancy house

 which it was
maybe due to the fact it had cartoons
but, it rated a happy dance.

It took a while

to find the proper bed

There were a few surprises in the bathrooms
Seems that not everything was included in the rental price.
after the kids went to bed, the grown ups had some fun downstairs

If it was OK

for Dada to buy a new truck, we check out this one which matches his shirt.

Hmm, the larger tires should improve fuel mileage.
On second thought, the drivers seat is facing the wrong way, and has no steering wheel or gas peddle.  Let's pass on this and get a milk shake instead.
Later that night, they check out a large bubble blowing thing that Aunt Natalie bought.  It should work even better out side with bubble juice.
